IB Diploma Programme

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a college oriented, pre-university programme for students of age 16-19. This Diploma is recognized by many universities in India and abroad. The organization for this programme is in Geneva, Switzerland, and its curriculum and assessment office is in Cardiff, United Kingdom.

The subjects are chosen from different areas such as Language, Mathematics, Natural Science, Human Science and the Arts. In addition, students are required to take a course in
Theory of Knowledge (ToK) - a course which critically analyses knowledge claims from different disciplines. The students are also expected to devote 150 hours during the course period of 2 years in Creativity, Action and Service (CAS). To develop their research skills, the students write a Research Paper (Extended Essay) on a topic of their interest evaluated by external examiners. There is a separate teacher for ToK and a Coordinator for CAS. Experts on the relevant subjects supervise the Extended Essay project under the leadership of the Diploma Programme Coordinator.
